Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit our site, contact us, or place an order.
Effective: June 4, 2026
This policy describes our practices in plain language. It is not legal advice.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller for personal information collected through this website is the Studio operating akilbaev.com on behalf of Amon Akilbaev.
Privacy questions or requests: orders@akilbaev.com or studio@akilbaev.com.
2. Information we collect
- Contact form: name, email address, message content, and technical data needed to deliver the message.
- Orders: name, email, billing and shipping address, order details (artwork, size, finishing options), payment status, and Stripe identifiers needed to fulfill the order.
- Communications: emails we send (confirmations, studio notifications) and replies you send to us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and similar logs collected by our hosting provider for security and performance.
3. How we use information
- Process and fulfill print orders, including sharing necessary details with print and shipping partners.
- Send transactional emails such as order confirmations and support responses.
- Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form.
- Operate, secure, and improve the website.
- Comply with law, prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar regions, we rely on contract performance for order processing, legitimate interests for site operation and security, and consent where you voluntarily submit a contact form. You may withdraw consent for marketing (if offered) without affecting lawful processing already performed.
5. Service providers
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to payment data it collects: https://stripe.com/privacy
- Brevo (Sendinblue) — transactional and contact email delivery.
- Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery, and security. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where these providers operate.
- Print and logistics partners — production and delivery of your order using the information required to manufacture and ship your print.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only what is necessary to run the site and checkout (for example, session or security-related cookies from our hosting stack). We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this site as of the effective date above.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect checkout or site functionality.
7. Retention
Order and contact records are kept as long as needed to fulfill orders, handle support, meet tax and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes—typically several years unless a longer period is required by law.
You may request deletion where we have no overriding legal reason to retain data.
8. Your rights
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability or withdrawal of consent.
- California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including knowing what categories of data we collect and requesting deletion, subject to exceptions.
- To exercise rights, email us with enough detail to verify your identity and describe your request. We respond within timeframes required by applicable law.
- You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe our processing violates applicable law.
9. International transfers
If you access the site from outside the country where our providers process data, your information may be transferred internationally. We rely on appropriate safeguards offered by our providers or applicable legal mechanisms where required.
10. Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child provided data and we will delete it.
11. Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the data we hold. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure.
We may update this policy; the effective date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page.
